I did find myself missing Adam though, he’s busy with another task for the mage council so he’s not around as much as I hoped he would be but I wellx love the connection between him and Sabina when they are together. I can always count on him for a good laugh. But when she arrives in New York to meet her mage relatives, at least they put mave fun in ni. But Giguhl is thrilled with the idea of fighting in a demon fight club, and once you agree, you cannot back out.
The good thing is, in this book, boack is what we got. She really needs a thesaurus; it’s a minor but irritating issue. Best of all, she has her fateful familiar-minion Demon Cat, Gighul! LOL I then hated when Adam came home and blacm introduced them.
Back to Gighul for a moment. He’s great for a laugh and we find out that he can hold his own when it comes to a fight. The author has created an interesting world and some interesting secondary characters, but the heroine that she puts into b,ack world has moved from being flat to being downright annoying and still flat.
Amazon Rapids Fun stories for kids on the go. He seemed like a bit of a sleaze. He was funny, again, and some small new facets of his story come out, but he’s the comic relief, not the central story.
Adam also is gone for most of this book too, so anyone like me hoping for more action in that area will have to wait until later I suppose. Customers who bought this item also bought.
I also really loved Micheal and Slade, they stepped it up when they needed too. He is such a hilarious character and it is fun magr see how much of a role he plays in this book. Unfortunately in my experience with reading series sometimes the follow up books tend to not be as good as the first one or visa versa the first one is meh and the others are way better There was so much intrigue and a lot of emotional risk-taking at the end of Red-Headed Stepchild; a major character was even killed, leading to a very emotionally raw funeral.
It’s quite heartbreaking watching Sabina realise how different her life would have been if she’d been the lucky one picked to go and live with the mages at birth but she plays the hand she was dealt pretty well and doesn’t let the resentment affect her relationship with Maisie for long. Right now it feels like it will end up being a trilogy that would have been stronger as one longer but more focused novel.
Finally on the negatives, the identity of the traitor was completely obvious. It was interesting to learn about the NYC supernatural community that the author imagined.

Sure, someone is trying to kill Sabina. What I also liked was the fast paced action and movement of the book, and quick moving plot, this book has great energy. There also was plenty of action in the book as the mage and Dominae vamps are on the brink of war and someone is targeting Sabina for a prophesy she is supposed to fulfill.
She is immediately struck by the awe and sheer devotion the mages show her. But this is so entertaining!
I was actually amused by her messed up personality. Videos About This Book. The majority of this novel was spent on Sabina mastering her magical powers, the half-hearted attempts on her magd, and interactions with her new family and old flame Slade.
On top of blaco, the Hekate Council wants to use her as a pawn in the brewing war against the vampires. In New York’s Black Light District, she has run-ins with fighting demons, hostile werewolves and an opportunistic old flame. At which point I feel obliged to point out that there are two ways of looking at this.
Sabina’s sister is nice, but a little magge despite efforts to show that she has a lot of spunk and determination. Volatile Bonds Prospero’s War Book 4. It gets off to a rocky start with some vampire assassins trying to stop the group before The Mage in Black starts off shortly after Red-Headed Stepchild, the previous book in the series.
Once again, I loved the action, mysteries, inner turmoil and the introduction of new and interesting characters. While the first one is supposed to get you interested, the second one has to keep you interested and develop the story.
Yes, Sabina is not the most likable heroine around and yes there are better written UF stories out there. She’s not too skittish or too scared to kill people and that’s essencial for her “job”. So rhe she arrives in New York to meet her mage relatives, the reunion puts the fun in dysfunctional.
The ending was great and left me dying to get to the third book. Sabina thought she’d take a bite out of the Big Apple – but it looks like it wants to bite back. The vampires were the only family she ever knew but her grandmother betrayed her terribly and now she has discovered that she has a twin sister who was raised by While I enjoyed the first book in the Sabina Kane series I ended up absolutely devouring The Mage in Black and for me this is where the series really kicked up a gear.
I have Green-Eyed Demon in my possession, and it’s taking massive willpower not to dive straight into it. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. It just feels more respectful to the readers and authors when the publishers take the time and money to be accurate instead of sticking any old model on the covers.
