Soon Nic is sweeping into her life and Lauren finds herself falling for this adult version of the boy she loved and the object of Nic’s stalker who’s determined to get her out of the picture. She has dreams of becoming a professional free-lance photographer one day and her big chance occurs when she wins a contest Another great example how love and forgiveness can bring us to the path of happiness we never thought we deserved.
I pretty much knew who the Stalker was from the first tense scene. I am not a professional reviewer just to let you know, I’m more of a professional romance book reader who loves happy endings. Lauren wants to get herself out of the department store portrait studio and start doing freelance work.
Also the fun times they had together and the humor they shared between them had me smiling throughout the book.
Take one really hot, Hollywood actor with an obsessive, overprotective agent and add in Lauren, a widowed single mother and her cute little boy Jason and you have Deadly Obsession.
The only down-side to this book was that I had figured out who the stalker was way too soon.
Lauren James a photographer, Nic Lamoureux a movie star, and the Stalker. It was written in such a way that I still was intrigued with how the villain was going to “solve” each situation and I still enjoyed watching the puzzle pieces fall into place. I hate it when authors say, “he put on his favorite song” and then don’t tell you what it is!
Once Nic lays eyes on Lauren he realizes he has it bad for her. She is sadly a young widow and has had to work real hard to support her young son.
This is a really great book. Lauren James, a struggling widowed mom, has had a crush on Nic since high school.
Add in high-stakes scenarios and real-world villains, and you have a story worth writing, and reading. For me, today is the time of year when I reflect on everything that has happened in the past year and everything I hope will happen in the new year.
How either of them reacted to that baggage could have had the story and their likeability as a couple going either way, but Kristine Cayne gave us some emotionally charged scenes as they dealt with each issue. The secondary cast of characters were great and I’m hoping each one of them will get their own Deadly Vices story. I enjoyed the characters and how it was written in a way that made it seem believable.
Suddenly, he finds the one person that makes him feel complete and able to be the true Nic Lamoureux. She gets to be the sole photographer for a photo shoot with Nic “The Lover. It would have been nice to have been kept guessing a little more before actually figuring it out.
I mean, most stalker themed books we read are centered on male stalkers following the hot female celebrity or the pretty girl next door. He is living his dreams making movies and lots of money, but Nic has been receiving messages from a stalker named NicsBitch.
Lauren James wins a chance to photograph Nic. It had me from the very first page and I truly didn’t want to put it down! Put all this together with an incredibly sexy Hollywood movie star, a single mom who is a department store photographer, kristinf bunch of fans, and a psycho stalker killer. They made me smile, laugh, ooh and readly. This is one wild ride from start to finish and I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
The there was the suspense and mystery portion of the stalker. The progression of the book is just right, it’s not too fast or too slow.
